Yamaha Virago XV750 Cafe Racer Project

XV750 Cafe Racer R1 Ford GT40 Gulf
Jeffrey of JTEC MOTO in Los Angeles, California shows us his latest build, a custom 1982 Yamaha Virago cafe racer. Upgrades include a complete 2005 Yamaha R1 front end and Hagon rear mono shock. The bike's paint scheme is an homage to the 1970's Ford GT Gulf.

This project would never have been possible without the help of some very talented craftsman. I would like to thank everyone that helped in transforming this old Yamaha Virago into something a little more aggressive...

Stanley Tang of Aliso Viejo, California shows us his beautiful custom cafe racer that he built in his garage from a 1982 Yamaha Virago XV750. Riding video shot with the GoPro Hero 3+. Stanley was influenced by the custom Viragos built by Greg Hageman which include the Benelli Mojave tank.

Mazda Miata MX5 LS3 V8 Project Build

Project Thunderbolt Part 1
In this episode we lay lay out our plan and get to work on our V8 LS3 drivetrain conversion.

Part 2
Work continues on the V8 conversion as we strip the Miata's chassis and break down the stock drivetrain to make room for the big LS3 and it's related components!

Part 3
This time we let that big LS3 out of its crate, mount it up to its new subframe and modify our engine bay to make it all fit!

Part 4
This time we continue work modifying our chassis, mount our Getrag differential, take a look at our Tremec Magnum and then modify our LS376/525 so it will work well in our Miata.

Part 5
In this update, we bolt on our serpentine drive system, fit our new air intake setup, make room for our new radiator and fab up a drive by wire gas pedal setup.

Part 6
In this update we install our clutch setup, mate the engine to our transmission, do a final test fit in the car to make sure everything looks good and then finish weld all of the engine bay and transmission tunnel modifications that we've made.

Part 7
In this update, we seal up our engine bay and chassis mods for good, address the the age-old problem of the heat and noise generated from sticking a giant engine in a tiny car and then make our engine bay look great again.

Part 8
In this update, our chassis preperation is complete which means it's time to start putting old Thunderbolt back together again! In goes the fuel system, chassis wiring, shifter and much more.

Part 9
In this update, reassembly continues as we install suspension upgrades, driveline components and begin to tackle the big job of wiring the LS3.

Part 10
This time, we're finishing the bulk of remaining electrical work, plumbing the radiator and heater hoses, installing the suspension (while adding some much needed upgrades) and putting the "Thunder" in Thunderbolt with a custom exhaust system. NOTE: The exhaust system shown in this video is for off road use only.

Part 11
This time we face one of the most exciting, yet nerve wracking moments a car guy will ever experience- the first start and drive of a newly built car! But let’s not get ahead of ourselves, we’ve still got tons of work to do before turning the key.

Part 12
This is it- the final episode of the "Project Thunderbolt" video series! It's time to see how it all turned out and go for a drive. While this may be the end of the build, this is just the beginning of the journey so stay tuned for future Thunderbolt updates.

Part 13
In this episode we put Thunderbolt through a variety of tests to determine how it performs.
